How the WorldTeach/TESOL Masters works:

  1. TESOL/WorldTeach students enroll for two semesters at the MIIS campus to complete core TESOL courses.
  2. TESOL/WorldTeach students then fulfill either one semester or one year of WorldTeach service. The service period is preceded by 3-4 weeks of teacher-training and language/culture immersion with WorldTeach.
  3. Upon completion of service, TESOL/WorldTeach students return to the MIIS campus for one final semester (or two if completing a specialization).

“Here at The Middlebury Institute of International Studies, we’re focused on graduating well-rounded, experienced professionals who have had both high-quality training and opportunities to apply what they’ve learned in class, in the real-world. Our WorldTeach/TESOL Masters enables us to do just that.”

-Jill Stoffers, MA, Senior Director of Partnerships

The School of International Training (SIT)

SIT has been a leader in the field of TESOL (also referred to as TEFL, TESL, ESL, or ELT) education for more than 40 years. Employers look for teachers who have been trained at SIT. SIT’s Master of Arts in TESOL program stresses the practical applications of learning and effective teaching. Learning is balanced in the domains of knowledge, skills, attitude, and awareness in the context of language.
