Alumni Spotlight
A Tuesday night in early June, WorldTeach alumni and some prospective volunteers living in the DC area joined together to raise their glasses, and donations, in support of WorldTeach programs. Many teaching sites were represented by departure groups dating back all the way to ’98. Over $400 was raised for WorldTeach from the generous donations of the greater WT community, which included many friends at the Monterrey Institute of International Studies (California) in DC for a summer course. With a donation, volunteers enjoyed cheaper drinks, free appetizers, and a chance to win drink tickets in exchange for teaching and traveling stories. Those who are interested in meeting up for the next WT get-together in DC can seek out more details by sending a message to the Friends of WorldTeach Facebook group.
