WorldTeach is happy to continue with its unique program in Patagonia in partnership with Fundaciòn Patagonia Sur. This program places two volunteers each year to serve in two communities in this very remote area of Chile. While Fundaciòn Patagonia Sur is highly involved in the selection of volunteers as well as overall administration and management of the program, WorldTeach provides in-country support and professional development assistance throughout the year.
The WorldTeach Chile Fundaciòn Patagonia Sur program is a highly competitive program, due not only to the very limited number of placements but also because of the skill-set being sought. In addition to teaching English, WorldTeach volunteers in this program will also assist in environmental education for the communitythey serve. The WorldTeach Chile Fundaciòn Patagonia Sur program departs in February finishing in December.
Chile Fundaciòn Patagonia Sur volunteers must be native English speakers and possess Spanish fluency. Volunteers must also have a bachelor's degree, several years experience teaching English as well as a demonstrated interest in environmental education is a must. Successful volunteers will be flexible, mature, able to cope in an isolated environment and have a genuine interest in cross-cultural experiences. WorldTeach alumni are highly encouraged to apply.
