In 2005, WorldTeach began its first year of service in this diverse South American nation. WorldTeach volunteers in Guyana have the opportunity to teach Math and Science at public high schools throughout Guyana. Sites range from deep riverrain hinterlands to savannahs to urban areas.
The WorldTeach Guyana program requires an 11-month commitment. Volunteers will depart for Guyana in early August and return in July.
Volunteers must be native English speakers, have a bachelor's degree and be between the ages of 18 and 74 by the departure date. Successful volunteers will be flexible, mature, and have a genuine interest in teaching and cross-cultural experiences.
