In striving to continually provide the best services possible in Costa Rica, WorldTeach Costa Rica is in negotiations for volunteers to teach English at public elementary schools, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education for 2010. These volunteers will work with students in grades 1st through 6th. Teaching placements are in small communities in rural areas throughout the country.
Volunteers arrive in late May, receive a week of orientation training, and teach through early August. This time period includes a school vacation in Costa Rica, during which time volunteers will complete a service project in their communities.
The summer program is open to qualified individuals between the ages of 18 and under the age of 74 (undergraduates included). You need not be a US citizen, but must speak fluent English. Prior teaching experience is helpful but not required. Flexibility and enthusiasm are pluses!
