Welcome to Chile!

WorldTeach is fortunate to have two outstanding partner organizations in Chile and can therefore offer two distinct programs providing volunteers the opportunity to teach English either at primary/secondary public and semi-public schools (Chile Ministry) or at a Chilean post-secondary institute (Chile DuocUC) similar to a community college in the US.

Teaching and site placements vary by program from the large urban cities of Santiago, Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, and Concepción to smaller cities and more rural placements located in Chile's Bío-Bío (VIII), Araucanía (IX) and Los Ríos (XIV) Regions.  Please consider carefully which program would best match your background and interests!
Volunteers must be native English speakers and have a bachelor's degree. Successful volunteers will be flexible, mature, and have a genuine interest in both teaching and cross-cultural experiences. Teaching qualifications are not required, although prior experience will greatly strengthen your application to this competitive program.

Departures are in early February (Chile DuocUC Year), mid March (Chile Ministry Year), and mid July (Chile Ministry Semester), and all programs finish by mid December.

WorldTeach will be sending volunteers to Chile this year to participate in two very different programs.  The requirements for the Chile DuocUC and Chile Ministry programs vary slightly.  A comparative summary of the programs is available below, and we invite you to read about the two programs further on their respective program profile pages in order to decide which one best matches your interests.
