Pacific Island Program Summaries
 

 

Bachelor's degree required

Teach English, math, science, social studies or vocational trades in the public elementary and high schools. Live with a host family or in teacher housing. Depart in early July. Volunteer must commit to a US$2,000 deposit (to be returned upon completion of service); this program is fully funded by American Samoan Department of Education.

Marshall IslandsMarshall Islands           
Teach English in public elementary schools or high schools. Placements are in urban areas on main island as well as more remote outer islands.  Live with host family or in teacher housing. Departure in mid July.  Volunteer Commitment: US$0 plus US$2,000 deposit to be returned upon completion of service (fully-funded by Marshall Islands Ministry of Education).

Teach variety of subjects, especially English and math, in public high school. Live in teacher housing. Positions also available to teach English/math at the College of Micronesia (masters degree required). Departure in mid July. Volunteer Commitment: US$0 plus US$2,000 deposit to be returned upon completion of service (fully-funded by Kosrae/Pohnpei Departments of Education).
