Deciding to participate in a WorldTeach program means you have an adventure in store for you, but there is work to be done before the excitement begins. After your acceptance, WorldTeach will send you an Acceptance Packet with a checklist of things you will need to do before you depart for your particular program.
To give WorldTeach - and yourself - maximum time to prepare for your program's departure, we ask that you confirm your participation as a WorldTeach volunteer within two weeks of acceptance.
To confirm, please send us:
-
Your signed Conditions of Participation form, found in your acceptance packet.
-
-
Two completed copies of the Volunteer Medical History Form, found in your acceptance packet.
-
Your $450 deposit to hold your place on the program (checks should be made out to "WorldTeach." This deposit will not be refunded if you withdraw from the program.)
Your position with WorldTeach is confirmed upon receipt of these three items. The signed Conditions of Participation form, together with the deposit, constitute your agreement with WorldTeach. If we do not receive your confirmation within two weeks, we may not be able to hold your position. If you have any concerns about confirming your participation, please contact the WorldTeach office.
After confirmation, you will be required to submit various materials, including a Physician's Health Form (signed by your physician during a health exam), passport photos, travel information, and other documentation for your visa. Pre-departure preparations vary depending on the program you will participate in, and therefore you must pay careful attention to the correspondence sent to you by the program staff. Once we receive your confirmation, we will send you additional materials to help you prepare to live and teach in your host country.
WorldTeach will provide you with guidance and useful information, but you are ultimately responsible to promptly send in any forms or items required by WorldTeach and to prepare yourself for departure. WorldTeach recommends allowing at least 3 months for pre-departure preparation. The earlier you apply for the program the more preparation time you will have.

"As a twenty-year old full of youthful idealism and wonder of the world, I took off on my own for a land on the other side of the world. I had absolutely no expectations, other than sheer excitement and exhilaration.
I soon met the seven other brave travelers with whom I would spend the most exciting summer of my life."
