Each of the three essay responses should be approximately 250 words, and double-spaced with page numbers. Essays should be completed and submitted together, either mailed to our address below or emailed to
admissions@worldteach.org
. Please include your given name, first choice program and associated departure date on every page.
Note: If applying to the Chile Ministry program, essays must be emailed in AND please answer the additional component of question 2.
Essay Questions
1. At this point in your life, what is your motivation for wanting to be a WorldTeach volunteer teacher in your first choice country? What personal goals do you aim to achieve by participating in the program? What contributions do you hope to bring to the community in which you will teach and live?
2. Describe the best experience you have had teaching a new skill or concept to an individual or a group. How will your prior teaching experiences (formal and informal) inform your experience as an educator in a developing country?
Chile Ministry applicants only: Additionally, please describe what contribution you would like to make to the school community to help foster English language learning? You may mention classroom activities, extracurricular activities, and other initiatives.
3. Living and working in a developing country for an extended period of time is quite challenging.

What qualities do you possess that will be valuable as you face these challenges? As you are responding to this question, think about the cultural and lifestyle differences you may encounter in a developing country.
